Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Launches ‘Be Aware… No Hajj without a Visa Campaign

Hamariweb  |  Jun 02, 2023

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has recently unveiled an impactful campaign named “Be Aware… No Hajj without a Visa” with the primary objective of educating Muslim pilgrims planning to visit Saudi Arabia.

This campaign aims to raise awareness among non-Saudi pilgrims regarding the significance of obtaining official permits for their Hajj pilgrimage. By emphasizing the importance of adhering to legal requirements, the ministry aims to caution against falling prey to fraudulent entities falsely claiming to provide permits for foreign pilgrims.

In order to perform the holy pilgrimage, it has made clear that pilgrims must acquire a specific Hajj visa before entering Saudi Arabia. It is important to note that other visa types such as visit visas, tourism visas, employment visas, or transit visas will not deemed valid for undertaking the Hajj pilgrimage at the revered holy sites.

Pilgrims hailing from non-Muslim majority countries, including Europe, the Americas, and Australia, now mandated to apply for Hajj through the user-friendly Nusuk online platform. The Ministry, in no uncertain terms, warns against placing trust in online accounts or individuals offering Hajj services at abnormally low prices, as these are illegal practices that can lead to unfortunate consequences.

To facilitate a seamless experience for the pilgrims, the Hajj ministry has provided comprehensive instructions and information. These include specific guidelines pertaining to prohibited items during air travel, as well as the obligatory customs declaration form that must completed upon entry or departure. It is important to comply with these regulations, especially when transporting significant amounts of currency, valuable jewelry, commercial goods, or items subject to excise tax.
