Earthquake kills five in Iran

In Iran, at least five people have been killed and several others injured by an earthquake of 6.1 magnitude in southern part of the country early this morning.

According to the state media, the area was also hit by two later strong quakes of up to 6.3 magnitude.

Head of emergency management in Hormozgan Province told state TV that rescue work has been launched and tents are being provided to the people.

According to reports, the quake also jolted parts of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and Afghanistan.
